Formerly ”EFFOA Finland Steamship Co Ltd”.

A traditional shipping company started in 1883 a steam ship connection between Finland and England. Its first vessel was S/S Sirius. The business grew rapidly, and just before the WWII the fleet of EFFOA consisted 55 vessels. Though, in 1945 many ships had to convey to the Soviet Union as a part of peace treaty.

The share of EFFOA was listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange from 1912 to 1914 and again from 1915 to 2003. The company is still active and belongs to the Tallink Group of Estonia.
