Asserin Tsemendivabrik A.-S.
A portland cement mill, which was founded in 1899 near Aseri mansion, north-eastern Estonia. First, the main owners were some banks from St. Petersburg and also production of the mill was exported to Russia. However, after the independence of Estonia (in 1918) exporting was stopped. In 1923 factory was bought by the company of this share certificate. There was also another large cement mill called Kunda in the neighbourhood (20 km). Domestic market was too small for these two mills, and finally in 1926 Kunda decided to pay to Asserin, that they DIDN’T produce cement anymore. Activity of Asserin tailed off in the late 1920s. This certificate comes from the last share offering of the company, and that issue was likely failing.
