This Swedish company built a steam sawmill in Pori in Western Finland. A bankruptcy followed after a couple of years, and the sawmill was transferred to the industry family of Ahlström in 1889.
In the 1870s there was built five sawmills in Pori in total and competition was very hard. The main reason of the concurrent waking into this business was, that the legislation referring sawmills was changed. Earlier it was allowed to build sawmills only beside rapids, but after 1857 the sawmills were established on logistically smarter places like near harbours.
The sawmill of Pihlava is still in action. Paper of the beautiful certificate came from England and it has a Turkey Mill” watermark.
