Hackman was established in 1790 in Wiborg as a trade house, which owned sawmills and ships. Until the late 1990’s Hackman was a multifunctional group. As well as kitchen equipment, the company has manufactured also cellulose, building plates, plastic products and candles. Hackman was also a large forest owner.
In the 1990’s Hackman was focused to the kitchen equipment. In 2004 the company was sold to Italian Ali S.p.A. New owner sold soon Hackman’s consumer brands Hackman, Iittala and Arabia to Fiskars Inc. and kept the professional kitchen division.
The share of Hackman was listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange from 1988 to 2004. The company is still active as a subsidiary of Italian parent company. Nowadays the name of Hackman is Metos Ltd.
Nature of business: Metal industry, cookware, cutlery, professional kitchen equipment.
