A multi-industrial company Amer was founded in 1950 as a cigarette factory importing American cigarettes to Finland. Furthermore, it has been the the owner of Marimekko, Weilin+Göös and Terhi boats. Nowadays Amer is settled down to the sporting goods. The worldwide well-known sporting brands of Amer are for example Atomic, Salomon, Suunto and Wilson.
The share of Amer has been listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange since 1977. In addition the share was listed also in London between 1984 and 2005.
Nature of business (in the past): Importing and marketing of cars and vans, tobacco industry, communications industry, paper merchanting and converting, import and marketing of branded goods, sports goods industry, manufacture and marketing of interior fabrics and clothing, licensing, metal industry, plastic industry.
