”Espoo electricity Ltd”.
Espoon Sähkö was established in 1919 as an electricity distribution company. Its network covered Espoo, later also Kirkkonummi. In district heating business was expanded in 1967.
In 2001 the majority owner, the city of Espoo, sold 34 % of the company to E.On Scandinavia, which started to add its stake quickly. Later in 2006 the majority was transferred to Fortum, and Espoon Sähkö was merged into Fortum in the end of 2006.
The share of Espoon Sähkö (with its different names) was listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange from 1994 to 2006.
